Gorillas in the Mist

This film is an adaptation of the wildlife expert Dian Fossey's autobiography. It is based on the life and work of this world-famous primatologist, who saved mountain gorillas from extinction in the '70s and '80s. Dian Fossey, portrayed by Sigourney Weaver was a truly enigmatic personality whose pioneering research work in Rwanda was instrumental towards rebuilding the mountain gorilla population until her untimely and mysterious murder. A tragic movie indeed, this movie will definitely put sensitive animal lovers through an emotional wringer. The shots of the apes are everything we could wish for and they are the real stars of the show with the incorporation of real life footage of gorillas lending an aura of authenticity to the film. Gorillas are not so different from  humans. They have their very own social groups and behavior and are indeed very intelligent creatures. This movie takes a look at the vagaries and complexities of gorillas and gives the viewer an idea of the magnificence of the species and why it is imperative that they be preserved from extinction. Therefore, this would be a great movie for not just ape lovers, but all the lovers of nature as well as those with a curious mind. Though it is a bit of an old movie it never gets too old to enjoy, and who knows, it may even change your life!

Minimize and address the impacts of ocean acidification, including through enhanced scientific cooperation at all levels.

The cause of ocean acidification is clear: carbon pollution released by burning fossil fuels. Some organizations are working to reduce carbon pollution while also pressing for quick and effective measures to better understand and mitigate the impacts of ocean acidification. While ocean acidification shares the same principal cause as climate change, it is a separate phenomenon that requires distinct strategies as well as independent scientific study. The most effective way to limit ocean acidification is to act on climate change, implementing solutions to dramatically reduce the use of fossil fuels. If we dramatically cut our global warming emissions, and we limit future warming, we can significantly reduce the harm to marine ecosystems. Because we don't fully understand what's to come as the oceans acidify, as human beings we need to help coastal communities and marine industries.

Reduce marine pollution

The 14th goal in the global goals for sustainable development is about the life below water. As a result of industrialization the ocean is polluted by people.

The target is to prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution. Toxic chemicals from industries, industrial and agricultural waste are the most common forms of waste that is directly discharged into the oceans.

Clean oceans and seas are very important to our lives. So we must protect them by eliminating pollution and immediately start to responsibly manage and protect the marine life. All the living organisms have to face huge problems such as endangering and changing of the food cycle. Let's stand against it and contribute to reduce marine pollution.

Nature

" Teach your children what we have taught our children: that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the children of the earth. If we spit upon the ground we spit upon ourselves. This we know. The earth does not belong to us; we belong to the earth. One thing we know which the white man may one discover, our god is the same god. You may think now that you own him as you wish to own our land; but you cannot. He is the god of all people. And compassion is equal for all. this earth is precious to god, and to harm the earth is to heap contempt on the creator. So love it as we have loved it. care for it as we have cared for it. and with all your mind, with all your heart, preserve it for our children and love as god loves us all".
