Duma

Duma is a 2005 American family drama adventure film about a young south African boy’s friendship with an orphaned cheetah. It is an extraordinary film that becomes a spiritual experience due to director Carrol Ballard’s reference to the mystery of wild animals with the adventure of Huckleberry Finn and the Majesty of the Black stallion. The story begins with a cheetah cub being orphaned after his mother was killed by lions. The cub is found on the side of the road by a young boy named Xan and his father Peter. Initiallly reluctant to take in a wild animal, Peter agrees to let Xan take care of the cub. Duma is an enchanting coming age drama which teaches viewers the power and importance of family. This is a movie with less power and less profainity. And a superior family entertainment, warm, thoughtful and connected to the landscape. Finally I would like to say that this movie is an astonishing, beautiful story which animal lovers should definitely watch.
